Silversun Pickups - Broken Bottles

The Los Angeles based alternative rock band Silversun Pickups released an EP a few weeks back to commemorate...Black Friday. Yeah, my guess is as good as yours as to why they would do that, but whatever, new music! Off the new three track EP entitled Seasick, the highlight is Broken Bottles, which instantly takes me back to their first album, Carnavas, which garnered the band a great deal of popularity. Broken Bottles is fast-paced, energetic rock song that has a familiar Silversun Pickups sound. It's got the typical screeching, loud, but catchy guitar work and the love 'em/hate 'em vocals by Brian Aubert. The solo towards the end makes this song for me. Some bands release vinyls/EPs to independent record stores to celebrate music on what it is referred to as Black Friday Record Store Day. I'm not too sure about the whole commemorating Black Friday thing..
