Video: R.E.M. - We All Go Back To Where We Belong

I posted on R.E.M.'s greatest hits album recently, however, I missed out posting on one of the new songs the band recorded for the album. We All Go Back To Where We Belong is probably the best R.E.M. song in nearly a decade, if not longer than that. The band just disbanded a short time ago and this song feels like a goodbye song to all their fans. It's really a wistful song that's somewhat sad, but in a way peaceful as well. The lyrics are really, really nice. I feel like the message in this song can apply to many different things, like losing a loved one. 

The video for this song is very cool. It's a simple black and white video featuring the actress Kirsten Dunst for the entire duration that is really well-done and feels like an appropriate video for the song. There's something about black and white videos that makes them more unique and interesting than regular, run-of-the-mill videos. Give me simple, yet pretty black and white videos over bombastic, flashy videos any day of the week. Sometimes simple does the job. Check out the video above.
