Owen - O, Evelyn...

Owen was featured on this site back in August with the lead single from solo artist Mike Kinsella's new album, Ghost Town. The album was released on November 8, so it's time to revisit the album. Ghost Town has several standout tracks to choose from, but I think O, Evelyn... is a good representation of the album as a whole. Some who listen to this song may think this song is too low-key or perhaps slow, however I think that's a lazy opinion. There is a lot of depth contained in this relatively short track. The subtle acoustic guitar playing alongside the strings creates are a very melodic sound that is pleasant on the ears. Vocalist (he plays all the instruments in fact) Kinsella's vocals match the tone of this song wonderfully. Check out this song below and download it:

I find the fact that he wrote this for his 3 or 4 year old daughter is simply adowable. I'm sure she'll grow up to love her dad/Mike even more for this. You should've attached the chicago theatre performace video.
